Yoga is a powerful vehicle for creating a fairer and more equal world and, women and children are vital ambassadors for this change. This is why Yogamazia is grateful to support Yoga Gives Back and serve as part of their Global Ambassadors Team. Watch the interview with our founder Michelle here.
Yoga Gives Back is a non-profit and charity organization specifically focused on giving back to India, especially to support the serious challenges of poverty and related social issues. We join in their mission to collectively demand positive social change to have a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive world for everyone.
In celebration of Women's History Month in March 2022, Yogamazia ran several events to raise money for Yoga Gives Back. We loved seeing how enthusiastically our community embraced this vital cause and came out to support our efforts which allowed us to raise $4,467 - more than double our original goal! This amount can ensure 20 disadvantaged girls to continue their higher education and avoid forced marriage or trafficking.
A BIG thank you goes out to EVERYONE who took part or donated to our fundraiser and grateful to have collaborated for our fundraiser with local supporters, especially Guru's Fine Indian Cuisine and The Pro Shop of Newtown. Also see our gallery below for pictures from the fun family events. Thank you to Rang Photography for capturing the treasured moments of our Holi Celebration.
Thank you to the fox tribe members and supporting local businesses who continue to help us empower 2400 underserved women and children as part of Yoga Gives Back’s Global Gathering for India campaign continuing through August 31st.
If you would like to learn how you can help, get in touch or join us in the "108 Global Challenge". Why 108? Mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci believed that this number represents the wholeness of existence and your support of $108 can provide exactly that in the form of primary education for up to 40 girls in India instead of child marriage, child labor, trafficking and other harsh realities.
We are so grateful for your continued support in creating a bigger impact for women and children.
Yoga is a gift from India. We cannot sit back and enjoy its benefits for ourselves when India’s inequality and unemployment and the sufferings of women and children are at record high compared to other parts of the world.
With everything that is going on in the world these days, we cannot forget that no one suffering is bigger than another. This is why we are humbled by your willingness to give back and really appreciate your continued generosity!
